Privacy Policy

The short version

1. What We Collect

FillRight does not collect personal information. The calculator inputs you enter (truck type, fuel levels, distance, gas price) are used only to perform the calculation in your browser. They are never transmitted to or stored on any server.

If you use the "Share this calculation" feature, your inputs are encoded in the URL as query parameters (e.g., ?truck=uhaul-15&pickup=1&current=0.5). This URL exists only in your browser — nothing is stored on our servers.

2. What We Don't Collect

• No advertising or tracking pixels
• No cookies (Vercel Analytics is cookie-free — see §3)
• No sessionStorage
• No device fingerprinting
• No email addresses or contact information
• No payment information

Note: FillRight's service worker caches app files (HTML, JS, CSS) in your browser's Cache Storage for offline support — see §5 for details. FillRight also stores your light/dark theme preference in localStorage under the key theme — this contains only the string "light", "dark", or "system" and no personal data.

3. Hosting & Analytics — Vercel

FillRight is hosted on Vercel (opens in new tab). As part of normal hosting operations, Vercel may collect standard server access logs, which can include your IP address, browser user agent, and request timestamps. This data is handled according to Vercel's Privacy Policy (opens in new tab). We do not have access to individual-level log data.

FillRight also uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are visited, referrer sources, and approximate device, browser, and region breakdown. This service is cookie-free: Vercel identifies a visit using a hash derived from the incoming request (IP address + browser user-agent) that is automatically discarded after 24 hours and cannot be used to track you across websites or sessions. No personal information is retained. The data we see is aggregated only (e.g., "150 visits from mobile browsers this week") — never individual-level.

4. Fonts

FillRight uses the Geist typeface. Via Next.js's next/font system, font files are downloaded at build time and self-hosted on FillRight's own servers — no request is ever made to Google's servers or any third-party font CDN from your browser at runtime.

5. Service Worker & Offline Caching

FillRight is a Progressive Web App (PWA) and registers a service worker that caches the app's static files (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and fonts) in your browser's Cache Storage. This caching is used solely for performance and offline support — it stores only the app's own static assets, never your personal data or calculator inputs.

You can inspect or clear this cache at any time via your browser's developer tools (Application → Cache Storage) or by clearing your site data in browser settings.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share any data with third parties. We do not sell personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or any applicable state privacy law.

7. Children

FillRight is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and note the update on the FillRight homepage where practicable. Continued use of FillRight after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
